Alabama Launchpad is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to support and promote high-growth entrepreneurship and innovation in Alabama. The organization is a partnership among the state's research universities and the business community. University partners include:

- Alabama State University
- Auburn University
- The University of Alabama
- University of Alabama at Birmingham
- University of Alabama in Huntsville
- University of South Alabama
The Economic Development Partnership of Alabama (EDPA), a non-profit corporation funded by more than 68 leading companies in the state, is also a founding partner of Alabama Launchpad.
Through the business plan competition and other programs, Alabama Launchpad provides a framework for individuals in the state to develop their business ideas and connect to a network of experts, investors, and service providers that can increase the odds of success. Alabama Launchpad provides unique opportunities to obtain startup capital, receive expert guidance, and establish working relationships within the business, academic, and investment capital communities.
The Alabama Launchpad Board of Directors consists of business and academic leaders from our university partners and Alabama's top corporations. Launchpad's officers manage day to day operations and administer the business plan competition and technology database.
Goals
Alabama Launchpad works collaboratively with other organizations to foster economic development and entrepreneurial growth. The goals of Alabama Launchpad are:
- To increase the supply of entrepreneurs in Alabama
- To make it easier for new entrepreneurs to connect with a network of key individuals that can help them succeed
- To provide educational and networking opportunities for new entrepreneurs
- To provide a vetting mechanism that helps local investors evaluate the risks of startup companies and become more comfortable investing in Alabama technologies
- To build a pipeline of early stage companies that will be become tomorrow's leading firms
- To increase collaboration among the participating universities
