The Alabama Launchpad Competition recruits leaders in business and technology to review and judge the plans submitted by the participating teams.
A committee consisting of entrepreneurs, investors, and University officials will review all applications, and accept up to 25 applicants to participate in Alabama Launchpad. The application process has been changed from prior years. The new process can bew reviewed on the Business Plan Competition page. All teams will be staged as either Seed Ready or Pre-Seed by the Committee. Regardless of staging, the selected teams will all receive an external market assessment in Phase II.
All teams selected to the 2011-2012 Alabama Launchpad Class will receive a Business Opportunity assessment valued at $10,000. The EDPA Foundation has partnered with Frost & Sullivan to provide this assesment.
Phase III includes mentoring of all teams, regardless of track. Alabama Launchpad select experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders from around the state to participate in the new mentoring program. Details on the mentoring process will be released in November 2011.
In January 2012, the EDPA Foundation Board will select judges for the finale in the Seed Ready and Pre-Seed competitions. Judges will be selected from a pool of experienced entrepreneurs and business leaders.
