Programs

There are two primary programs of Alabama Launchpad: The annual Governor's Business Plan Competition and the Alabama Technology Database. Both programs were created in conjunction with our university and business partners across Alabama to promote high-growth entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialization.

Governor's Business Plan Competition

The annual competition provides seed capital to three early-stage businesses while also providing Alabama's entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with and learn from the state's business leaders. The competition begins each fall academic session and concludes in late spring. It is open to any high-growth venture as long as one member of the team is affiliated with one of the participating universities.

Alabama Technology Database

This web-based resource provides summaries and contact information for technologies available for commercialization and licensing from academic institutions and federal research facilities based in Alabama. These technologies are also listed on InvenioIP, which includes technologies from multiple states.
