Programs

There are two primary programs of Alabama Launchpad: The annual Alabama Launchpad Business Plan Competition and the Alabama Technology Database. Both programs were created in conjunction with our university and business partners across Alabama to promote high-growth entrepreneurship, innovation and commercialization.

Alabama Launchpad Business Plan Competition

With help and support of the Alabama Research Alliance, the Alabama Launchpad annual competition has been revamped to provide even more support to innovation and technology in the state. The new competition will now provides $400,000 in awards with Frost & Sullivan Business Opportunity reports for Phase II winners, proof-of-concept capital to emerging technologies, and seed capital to early-stage businesses. The competition will continue to provide Alabama's entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with and learn from business and technology leaders. The competition begins each fall academic session and concludes in late spring. It is open to any high-growth venture as long as one member of the team is affiliated with one of the participating universities.

Alabama Technology Database

This web-based resource provides summaries and contact information for technologies available for commercialization and licensing from academic institutions and federal research facilities based in Alabama. These technologies are also listed on InvenioIP, which includes technologies from multiple states.
